A gorgeously soft and comfortable cowl which is a great alternative to a scarf.
Created using Blue Sky Extra, a luxurious blend of baby alpaca and fine merino wool which is lightly spun to be soft and springy.
Designed by Kirsten Johnstone, and inspired by the avant-garde architecture of Australia, the Fractal Cowl is a mathematical marvel.
Suitable for an advanced knitter who enjoys a challenge, the Fractal Cowl is worked in the round (each one unique) on a background of reverse stocking stitch to create clearly defined geometric patterns. The detailed instructions are written and charted.
When complete, your Fractal Cowl will measure approximately 51cm (20”) in circumference x 20cm (8”) height.
To complete your Fractal Cowl you will need a 5.0mm (US8) circular knitting needle 40cm (16”). You will also need a 5.0mm (USH/8) crochet hook, a stitch marker, 2 cable needles, and waste yarn.
